At the May 22, 2013 VISION Conference, Victor, a member of the BCAMA Marketline Committee, caught up with some of the attendees to find out their reasons for attending. (How about you? What drew you to VISION?)
Meredith Toward, BC Hydro Marketing and Communications, BC Hydro: “I came to VISION to get new ideas and to see what’s happening outside of the BC market. And I came to find new ways of connecting with our customers.
I remember the year before, where I heard a speaker who had created the “Don’t Mess with Texas” campaign. It helped me think about what resonates within a cultural context, and it made me think ‘What is our BC customer like and how does that differ from elsewhere?’.”
Cynthia Dyson, Marketing and Communications, BC Hydro: “I came for fresh ideas, thought-provoking information. I got insights about consumers and how best to reach them. I came last year too, and there are always take-aways.”
Lauren Archibald, Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Bullfrog Power: “I came to VISION two years ago as a student, but it’s very different this year, as I’m now working. You can think of the information and apply it to your company. As a student, it was more for inspiration.
I really like the notion of connecting with your customer and staying with them the whole way – making sure we stay engaged with them along the whole journey.”
Sharon Greeno, Fashion Faculty, Kwantlen Polytechnic University,
“I have been to VISION once before. We left with all the materials I could carry and was very inspired. I work in an applied program where you have to mix marketing with content. And I loved all the fabulous networking. I met a lot of people over lunch.”
