Kim Mech

Director, Marketing & Communications, UBC Sauder School of Business

Kim Mech has extensive experience in senior roles in business, marketing, and communications. Having started her career in Montreal, she has also worked in Toronto, Vancouver and internationally. Kim’s career spans a wide range of sectors, including higher education, finance, tech, telecom, travel and tourism, agency, not for profit and start ups.

She was recently Director, Marketing & Communications at the UBC Sauder School of Business, overseeing the strategic direction and digital planning for brand, student experience, communications and media relations, social media, and had oversight of marketing operations.

Kim also has extensive experience with the BCAMA, having recently served as the association’s President for a three-year tenure. In this role, she steered the chapter to win a Special Merit Award for Finance and was the catalyst behind the successful merger with the Association of Integrated Marketers (AIM). Prior to her presidency, Kim served as the Director of BCAMA’s Senior Executive Program. She is currently a Board Member for the Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society, serving North and West Vancouver.

As a leader, Kim fosters innovation and collaboration. She is also known for challenging individuals to grow and reach their highest potential; in this, she brings warmth and enthusiasm, but doesn’t shy away from having direct conversations. Kim has spent a considerable amount of time mentoring individuals in the marketing industry and is happy to continue her support of the BCAMA.
