Hanson is the President and co-owner of Lux Insights, an award-winning market research agency headquartered in North Vancouver.
In the past two decades, he has consulted on global brands such as Nintendo, Amazon, FitBit and Bluetooth, as well as BC based companies such as BCAA, the Vancouver Aquarium and BC Hydro.
Hanson started his career with an independent local firm, Eventcorp; followed by seven years with the multinational Ipsos. He joined Lux Insights during its start-up phase in 2011 and has helped grow the company to its current team of 15 with offices in North Vancouver, BC and Bellevue, WA.
He oversees Lux with focus on guiding the leadership team, client consultation, and business development. Hanson is an active moderator and is Lux’s resident expert on data analytics.
As a presenter, Hanson has spoken at the Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference in San Francisco, the Urban Development Institute in Vancouver and has also been a guest lecturer at SFU, UBC and Capilano University. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (marketing) from Simon Fraser University.
When he’s not guiding Lux, you can find Hanson enjoying the outdoors with his family, hiking the BCMC on grouse or trying to improve his game in golf, tennis or basketball. He also enjoys playing DOTA 2, NBA 2K and RPGs in the evenings.
