David Gratton is a lifelong product nut. He has been making and building products for himself and others since he was 7 years old when he constructed a homemade cannon in the family’s backyard shed. He created and sold his first video game at 16 and at 23 he created a new retail financial instrument for Royal Bank of Canada: LEOs, Limited Expiry Options.
Over the last 20 years David has led two studios that designed and built first of their kind products and marketing campaigns. Highlights include two seminal products for marketing and the web. BMW Films, which defined the new standard for content marketing, and was the largest video deployment on the web until the rise of YouTube. It also made Clive Owen a star. And the groundbreaking interactive Twitch broadcast seen by millions of users over a 72 hour span, to introduce Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Now common practice, it was the first of its kind on Twitch.
Combining marketing and product development is where David excels. He services a wide range of companies that are looking to bring new products to market. His work can be found at Knowledge Network, Bioware, EA, Microsoft, Jagex, CD Projekt RED, Finn AI, UBC, Rocky Mountaineer, CPA Canada, Mattel, Warner Bros, and dozens of young start-ups.
David remains an active consultant and business leader. He incubated Canada’s largest independent open source software developer, Appnovation, and founded Canada’s first dedicated AR/VR incubator, the BC Tech Cube and recently launched a new wearable art clothing line, DEQQ Apparel.
