Every year the BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association (BCAMA) honours a BC-based organization that has demonstrated marketing excellence. This award has been bestowed on 39 companies since 1971. Next year the BCAMA will honour its 40th winner.
In 2009, BC Hydro took this coveted award for their Power Smart Program; a campaign that called upon British Columbian’s to spend less and change the way they consume electricity. It was a marketing strategy that explored creative and sometimes surprising avenues to secure the consumers attention.
In the spring of 2010 a committee of senior BC-based marketers and media representatives selected a BC-based winner who has gone the extra mile to create and execute an outstanding marketing strategy with demonstrated results in the marketplace. Marketer of the Year is also evolving. Stay tuned for some changes to come over the coming year.
