Current Volunteer Opportinities

Marketer of the Year Event
The Marketer of the Year gala preparations are set to start and we need a few sales savvy volunteers to help contact BC businesses to attend the event and be a sponsor of our annual silent auction.

The bulk of this work will be completed between July and September and you could expect to spend approximately 6 to 8 hours a week on the phone with various organizations. In the weeks leading up to the event and at the event we need to secure your help with all the final details.

Primary tasks:

  • Phone calls
  • Setup prior to the event
  • Picking up auction items
  • Ushering and greeting activities the night of
  • Collection of IPSOS Reid evaluations the night of
  • Assisting with registration
  • Working at the silent auction tables

HTML Email Designer
Join the Marketing Communications Team. The Email Designer is responsible to design the look and feel of the Association's email communications to promote events, membership and sponsorship.

Template designs typically apply throughout the year with the exception of special events. Although copy can be provided, the Email Designer must have a keen eye for detail and proofreading. Email communications are sent weekly and frequently promote multiple subjects. The Email Designer must be able to meet tight deadlines and quick turnarounds. This position reports to the Director of Marketing Communications.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to write HTML/CSS for web and email environment
  • Understand that writing HTML/CSS for emails is different from writing HTML/CSS for a web page
  • Know email design standards and how emails react in different email clients such as Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, Gmail, Hotmail
  • Ability to hand-code HTML, CSS
  • Must be able to test and trouble shoot your HTML code
  • Maintain and update HTML e-mail newsletters
  • Be able to meet deadlines and quick turnarounds
  • Proficiency with Photoshop/Adobe
